“I don’t believe that there is everyday jewelry and special occasion jewelry. I believe the special occasion is now, every single day, the special occasion is your life!”
Elizabeth grew up in a creative family of musicians, music teachers, and artists near Yellowstone National Park. During this time she learned to appreciate the western and Native American Indian jewelry surrounding her. She was always a creative person and loved jewelry, especially her grandmother’s collection of fine jewelry. This combination led her naturally into jewelry design. Initially a musician, she would also use her dad’s old boy scouts loom and create jewelry using beads she found at the annual pow wows around Cody, Wyoming.
Fast forward several years and, after earning her associate of arts degree in Seattle, she settled back near the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with her pug. This is where she again found jewelry and her first french bulldog, Peanut, as well as her husband.
For many years she made wire wrapped jewelry with beads and dog accessories covered in bead work. Most dog items were donated to a french bulldog rescue that she volunteered for, and her blankets and hats always went to less fortunate dogs that came in to rescue with nothing.
During this time she also earned her bachelors in business administration with honors, while working full time. But, she had a problem, the accounting and finance career wasn’t fulfilling her need to be creative.
Two years ago she was laid off and finally took the plunge; she started working with fire. She spent day and night in her studio teaching herself to solder. If she wasn’t at her computer with a giant mug of coffee and toothpicks holding her eyes open, researching tools and watching videos, she was at her bench with a torch in hand. It was during this time that the pandemic swept the country and she could not take any classes in person. It was challenging as she had no idea if the direction she was taking was the “right” one. She felt like she was not good enough, most of the time.
During these early months, her husband fell seriously ill. Her need to see beauty, instead of the dark shadows of sickness, inspired her to try harder. It gave her the escape she so desperately needed and the permanence of her designs gave her comfort. It was during this time she made her first multi-layered piece dubbed “the warrior ring”.

Elizabeth believes that jewelry should be a reflection of the subtle nuances of the wearer. She doesn’t believe that there is everyday jewelry and special occasion jewelry.
